ISLAMABAD: On the occasion of Eid ul-Adha, the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Neil Hawkins said: “I send my warm greetings to Muslims in Pakistan, Australia and around the world who are celebrating Eid ul-Adha and perform Hajj. This year.

Australia is one of the most successful and dynamic multicultural societies in the world. Islam has become Australia’s second most common religion, and over 90,000 Pakistani Australians make up the largest of Australia’s vibrant Muslim communities. Their contribution continues to be essential to making Australia a prosperous, inclusive and harmonious society.

People-to-people ties between Australia and Pakistan continue to deepen and grow. These ties build on nearly 75 years of friendship between our two countries, underpinned by a shared Commonwealth heritage, a commitment to peace and security, stable trade ties, cooperation in education and our shared love of cricket and the sport. On behalf of my family and the Australian High Commission, Dianne and I wish you all a happy and peaceful celebration of Eid.
