The mayor was accused of writing the letter to Secretary of Marxist Communist Party of India (CPI(M) (Thiruvananthapuram) Anavoor Nagappan, trying to give jobs to 295 CPI(M) workers.

Kerala Police filed an FIR on Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran’s complaint on Tuesday, November 22, two weeks after a ‘forged’ letter – allegedly written by her – went viral on social media, sparking a furor Politics . The mayor was accused of writing the letter to Secretary of Marxist Communist Party of India (CPI(M) (Thiruvananthapuram) Anavoor Nagappan, trying to give jobs to 295 CPI(M) workers.

The “falsified” letter begins with the greeting, “Comrade”, and goes on to point out that there are 295 temporary vacancies in various positions, which arise at the health department attached to the Corporation. The letter requested a list of potential candidates. Since the letter went viral, the opposition BJP and Congress have staged protests – inside and outside the Corporation, demanding Rajendran’s resignation. This development has “shaken” the CPI-M government led by Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala.

Amid the heat on the issue, senior CPI(M) brass gathered and said the Crime Branch would conduct a preliminary investigation into the case. However, reacting to this, the opposition said “it was a cover-up, as no FIRs were registered”.

Meanwhile, the police continued their investigation and a few company officials were also asked for statements. Following strong protests, an FIR was finally filed on Tuesday.

According to sources, forgery charges were included in the FIR and conspiracy charges are also likely to be included. At present, no one has been named as an accused in this case.

A source said that as the letter first appeared in a leading vernacular newspaper, the investigation should begin with a journalist as well as local CPI(M) leaders who first shared the letter in a few party groups.

Looking for a great way to start your day? Consider practicing Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutations. A Sun Salutation is a series of yoga poses using interrelated breath and movement. Surya is the sun as well as the solar deity in Hinduism. While I’m not advocating worshiping a Hindu deity, keep in mind that the sun makes life possible on our planet and plays an indispensable role in photosynthesis.

The sunrise symbolizes the transition from darkness to light and can be seen as a symbolic transition taking you from a state of darkness to a state of awareness.

Facing east is important because it represents the transition from dark to light. And that’s what yoga is – you learn new things, you’re not afraid to learn new things, you become more aware of the outside environment and more aware of who you are as a person. individual. Additionally, you become more aware of your subtle body and layers of yourself, including being aware of the divine presence within. Your actions come from your divine self/guided from within/very pure place within/lead actions to be kind and compassionate from within. Appreciate the meaning before or after. Let this divine presence guide your thoughts.

Ashton Graham

Practicing sun salutations gives you the opportunity to express your gratitude to the sun and to awaken the energy in your body. A sun salutation incorporates forward bends, backward bends and hip openings as well as muscle building and strength. I find sun salutations enjoyable because they provide the opportunity for playful movement in a yoga practice and feel like moving meditation. Although I’m much more of a methodical Iyengar practitioner and not a vinyasa flow practitioner, I find moving through Sun Salutations can be an effective cardiovascular workout.

An icon of Our Lady of Ilige, also known as Our Lady of the Maronites and Maronite Patriarchal Icon. This unique Syriac-inspired Maronite art, over 1000 years old, was the personal icon of the Maronite Patriarch. He traveled with generations of Patriarchs, wherever Maronites went to flee persecution. The icon takes its name from its discovery in the Church of Our Lady of Ilige (Mayfouq, district of Jbeil, Lebanon), which had been the refuge and residence of the Maronite patriarchs from the 12th to the 15th century.

Eastern scholars and theologians assume that the Eastern and Western Churches have shared the same approach to Marian devotion and the angelic greeting, divinely inspired and uttered by the Archangel Gabriel, since the Third Ecumenical Council at Ephesus in 431.

However, since the 4th century, Eastern tradition has used the word rejoice instead of hail as we do now. And instead of graciousthe original Greek translates to prefer.

It was not until the 6th century that the angelic salutation and the evangelical salutation (the inspired salutation of Saint Elizabeth to the Virgin Mary), of Luke 1:28 and Luke 1:41-42 were combined and used in prayer. .

In fact, it was part of the liturgies of St. James of Jerusalem, St. Mark of Alexandria, St. Basil the Great, and even in the Jacobite prayer books! The best and oldest prayer formula of angelic greeting was found in the Book of the Sacrament of Baptism of 647 AD, by Saint Severus, Patriarch of Alexandria, in the following way: “Rejoice, Mary, beloved, for the Lord is with you. You are blessed among all women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus Christ. Holy Mary, bearer of God, pray for us sinners. Amen.”

It is worth mentioning that this was the first known example of adding a petition to the end of the angelic greeting. The standard but not widely used traditional form in Eastern churches today, in English, is: “Rejoice, Theotokos Parthenos, Mary has favored one, for the Lord is with you.” You are blessed among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, which bore the Savior of our souls. Amen.”

Understanding the Rosary and the Mother of God in the Eastern Tradition

The word rosary comes from the Roman Latin “rosarium”, which means a garden of roses.

In our Eastern churches, we have always associated Mary with the rosary/roses, long before the rosary reached us. It is mostly because of the story of the Assumption or the “Dormition of the Mother of God” as we call it. Upon opening the tomb of the Blessed Mother, the disciples and apostles found it empty except for the strong smell of roses emanating from it.

So why the smell of roses? If we go back to the Old Testament to the book of Song of Songs 2, a daughter or a bride, the future Bride of the Lord, speaks: “I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valley. Like a lily among thorns is my darling among young women. (Song of Songs 2:1-2)

Note that the text does not say “the rose”, but “a rose”. It indicates humility.

In other words, she says she is a common and humble flower of the lowlands, recalling the words of Mary saying, “I am the handmaid of the Lord.

Later and in Luke 1:46-48, we read: “Mary said, for he looked upon the lowliness of his servant with favor.

But the Lord God will lift up the Blessed Mother and accomplish great things through her. Mary became the bride of the Holy Spirit, a Rose of Sharon as Scripture says.

Incidentally, Sharon is a plain at the foot of the one and only Mount Carmel, the mountain where the Virgin Mother is most venerated by Eastern and Western Catholics.

We recall here how the visionaries of Our Lady of Fátima in 1917 – three shepherd children – reported that Our Lady of Mount Carmel is among the titles claimed by Mary in the apparitions. Our Lady identified herself with them as the Lady of the Rosary. A title first appeared in the 12th century according to a Dominican tradition and the famous apparition to Saint Dominic.

This offers an even deeper understanding of the description of the litany to Mary, the “mystical rose”. The wife of the Holy Spirit who was given a rosarium as a sign of love from her husband the Holy Spirit in fulfillment of his prophecy when she said: “From now on all generations will call me blessed (Luke 1:48).

The Rosary in the Maronite Church

As Maronites, the rosary came to us with missionaries and became popular around the 19th century. Like all Catholics, we have integrated the Rosary into our daily life and into our para liturgies, encouraging and promoting it at all times.

When we pray the rosary we participate in a universal Catholic traditional prayer but with a Maronite flavor, usually after praying the daily mystery, we recite or sing the litany to a uniquely oriental tune, followed by the Ya Um Allah (O Mother of God) hymn and procession or “Ziyeh” with the Icon of Our Lady, using a copy of the unique Syriac Maronite Antiochian Icon of Our Lady of Ilije from the 10th century.

“O Mary, Radiant Lily and Fragrant Rose, the aroma of your holiness fills the whole universe. Pray for us that we may be the sweet fragrance of Christ, reaching the whole world. Let our incense be for the preservation of the faith among the living and for the salvation of the faithful departed that we may all inherit eternal life. Amen.” – Divine Maronite liturgy at Notre-Dame

Father Eli Yammine is an assistant priest at Saint Joseph Maronite Catholic Church in Croydon, NSW.

Although the business world has evolved over the years, there are some things that haven’t: elements of formality and respect. When addressing someone in a professional setting, especially a superior, there is a certain way to go about it. The same goes for writing a business letter. And while business letters may seem old school, they still play many different roles in the industry.

If you’re looking for a guide to writing business letters, look no further. We’ve got the tips and tricks to help you write and address your best letter yet.

Why should you write a business letter?

If you need to convey formality and professionalism, physical letters are a great avenue to take. While the internal company communication can be done by e-mailwriting to other businesses via a letter shows an air of class and polish.

Reasons to write a professional letter include:

  • Official requests
  • Letters of motivation
  • Networking
  • Thanks or follow-ups
  • Resignation

Whatever reason suits you, the format of your letter should follow a pattern. Keep reading to learn more about structuring your business letter.

How to write a professional business letter

Letter writing is an art. And when you combine it with business, it’s an art combined with a process. When it’s time to write your letter, use our step-by-step instructions to guide you from what’s inside the letter to what’s outside the envelope.

Related: The Business Benefits of the Handwritten Letter

1. Inside the letter: the header

Before you start writing the letter, you must include a header which provides important contact information. If you are using business letterhead that provides this information, you can skip to the next step.

The header should be located in the upper left corner of the envelope and include the address format:

  • your full name
  • Your full address (home or business, depending on the situation)
    • Sender address (your address)
    • Town
    • : State
  • : Postal code
  • Name of the country

Your phone number (your most reachable number)

  • Your email address

Ignore the separation and include:

  • Full date (July 19, 2023)
  • Skip the next line and continue with the second line:
  • Recipient’s full name (if you know the person’s name)
  • Recipient’s job title
    • Company name (if applicable)
    • Consignee address or company address
    • street address

Town

: State

: Postal code

Country

Once you’ve set up the labels, it’s time to get down to writing.

2. Inside the letter: the content

When writing a professional letter, you need to find the balance between being eloquent yet direct – friendly yet formal.

  • The content must be:
  • The Salvation
  • A salutation is the first line of your letter. It’s a way to open your letter by addressing your recipient directly. What you know about your recipient will dictate how you can greet them with the salutation.
  • Home options include:
  • Dear Sir, Madam, Miss and Madam (only use these abbreviations if you are sure)

Dear Sir or Dear Madam (only use these titles if you are sure)

dear teacher

Dear recruiter

To whom it May concern

Once you’ve decided which salutation to use, you need to make sure you format it correctly in your letter. The salutation should be left-aligned, followed by a comma, and standing alone on one line. For instance: Dear teacher,

The message

  • It is now time to tackle the body of the work. Business letters should not exceed one page. To make sure you stay on topic, construct your letter in three paragraphs
  • is a useful structure for living. Make sure each of your paragraphs is indented to show separation.Content should cover:
  • Paragraph one: opening statement with the purpose or intent of the letter

Paragraph two : develop your point with background information, supporting details and reasoning

  • Paragraph three:
  • reinforce the purpose of the letter and end with a CTA (call to action)
  • A call to action shows
  • the recipient that you expect a response. A CTA can be something like:

I look forward to hearing from you.

Please contact us with any questions you may have.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Please keep me posted on the process.
  • Signature
  • Once you’ve said what you need to say and included your call to action, you need to include a formal endorsement.
  • Closing sentences can be things like:
  • Sincerely

Better

Thanks

Cheers

Warmly

After signing, you must include a comma, down a space, and sign your name.

A model

Even though we have given you all the information, it can be useful to have everything in one place. The next time you need to write a professional letter, use this letter to guide you.

Your name

Your full address (home or business, depending on the situation)

Your phone number (your most reachable number)

Your email address

Full date (July 19, 2023)

Recipient’s name (if known) [Recipient]Recipient’s job title

Company name (if applicable) [your name]Consignee address or company address [your reason]Expensive [Continue with your reason for one to two more sentences],

My name is [background information]and I reach out because [provide supporting details in one to two sentences]. [provide reasoning in one to two sentences].

To give you more information on the subject, [reinforce the letter’s purpose in one to two sentences]. In addition to that, [Include your CTA in one sentence]. This is significant because

.

Still,

.

.

Sincerely,

  • Your name
  • 3. On the envelope
  • Once you have your letter exactly the way you want it, it’s time to get it ready for the mail. What you put on the envelope is just as important as what you put inside the envelope.

On the outside, include a return address in the upper left corner of the envelope, including:

  • Your name
  • Company name (if required)
  • Your mailing address

In the middle of the front of your envelope is where you will include the recipient information in this order:

  • Recipient’s professional title and full name

Company Name

Exact mailing address

Once you have correctly formatted and included the necessary information, it is time to apply postage. If you’re not sure what kind of postage you’ll need, a good rule of thumb is:

1 oz (4 sheets of 8-1/2″ x 11″ plain paper and a professional size envelope) for 1 First-Class Mail® Forever® stamp (currently $0.60)

You can buy postage stamps on the United States Postal Service website or at any post office. Most grocery stores and pharmacies also carry USPS stamps.

  • Other things to consider
  • Now that we’ve covered the basics, it’s time to go over the little details that make a big difference.
  • The police
  • When you send a professional letter, you need to make sure your font is professional. For formal font options, stick to:

Times New Roman

Arial

cambria

Georgia

As for the font size, an 11 to 12 point font is acceptable.

Proofreading

It may seem logical, but this is your official reminder: read your letter again! Mistakes in your letter are unprofessional and don’t make a strong impression on the recipient.

Proofreading involves reading your letter aloud to yourself. Reading aloud will help you hear the tone and rhythm of your letter. It will also help you catch errors that you wouldn’t get by just sight-reading. The email address lineProviding a personal email address as part of your contact information is perfectly acceptable. However, you need to make sure it is professional quality. Try to avoid nicknames or slang terms. Opt for an easy-to-read version of your real name, so recipients can easily recognize you in subsequent interactions.

The stamp

It’s a small detail, but the stamp in the upper right corner of the letter adds to the overall aesthetic of your letter upon arrival. The USPS offers many choices when it comes to stamps, but try to stick to something standard

when you send it

. Avoid “happy birthday” and things to that effect, as that sentiment is not what you intended.

  1. Calligraphy If you are addressing your letter by hand, make sure your handwriting is clear and legible. This is another small detail, but it speaks to the impression of your work, itself. If you are unsure of your handwriting, you can always type in the address for your letter.
  2. Takeaway meals
  3. The art of professional letter writing is still very much alive. When it comes to writing a formal letter, remember these three things:

The content of your letter should be clear, concise and easy to read Your letter’s envelope should provide sender information, recipient information and appropriate postage These are the little things that will set your letter apart from others.

By Rod Miller, columnist

One of my favorite morning rituals is sipping my coffee while I read my spam. Invariably, there are two or three tempting offers from people I don’t know in Burkina Faso or the Ivory Coast who want to make me a very rich man.

At the time, it was the former Nigerian Oil Minister who wanted to enlist me to smuggle millions of petrodollars out of his country. For my help, I would get a tasty share of the loot, and all he needed was my banking information to keep the wheels rolling.

This guy died or found another friend, because I don’t hear from him anymore. But he’s been deftly replaced by dozens of other enterprising people who must have watched him rake in money from naïve Americans and up his game with creative new ventures.

The emails all start with an intimate greeting like “Dear” or “My precious friend” and go on from there with a gory story about a deceased husband’s blood money that the grieving widow just wants to give to a God fearing person.

Or another cockamamie yarn like that.

But, they tell me, if I want to grow my bank account with their looting, I’m going to have to put some skin in the game. Like giving them all my banking information, my social security number and my passwords. pass. After all, nothing in this life is free, is it?

Some might call it identity theft, I call it opportunity.

That was my coffee-fueled epiphany this morning. Instead of going through all these gyrations to steal my identity, why don’t they just buy it from me?

My imaginary friends must have the money to buy my identity. After all, they’re describing pallets of Benjamins stashed in trunks in Lichtenstein or Cayman Islands that they’re trying to unload.

And this is America, where everything is for sale. are you with me?

If my identity is so valuable to these people, I’m sure we could come to an arm’s length, willing buyer, willing seller arrangement. Like most of you, I’m not ready to sell myself too cheap, but I’m sure I’m willing to DIY.

For the incredibly low price of forty or fifty thousand dollars, any desperate person could buy a lightly worn Wyoming ID. My character is debt free, with a clean driving record and no law enforcement background.

My identity would be a welcome asset to anyone experiencing financial difficulties offshore. Or it would make a great accessory for someone with a pesky legal problem that doesn’t respect borders.

The operators are ready, so call now! Due to this special offer, I will accept cash, bearer vouchers or vintage Indian motorcycles as payment.

Expect! There is more!!

If you act immediately, I’ll include a good dog, a Copenhagen half-box, and a PBR tallboy.

What are you waiting for? For only fifty thousand dollars, your peace of mind is assured!

You won’t need to write another spam because you’re not you anymore.

I will write my own email and send it to my imaginary friends, offering them this offer. The smarter among them will see the obvious wisdom in this capitalist approach to the sensitive subject of identity theft.

Wish me good luck! I’ll let you know how it goes, but I have a good feeling. The only downside would be that after selling my identity, I won’t be able to write as Rod Miller anymore.

So if you see this column under my new byline, Nicky Chiffon, then you’ll know my plan worked.

As a former gymnast, I spent a lot of time hanging out in the air. So, naturally, I’m quite intrigued by a certain style of yoga: air yoga. You also? No acrobatics are required on your CV to be curious or take flight in practice.

Many varieties of “yoga and” have emerged in recent decades, according to Kevin Biggere-RYT 500, aerial yoga instructor at Om factory and co-creator of the Om Factory Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Program. (Think: Yoga and Pilatesor even yoga and goats!) Aerial yoga is one of those hybrid styles, says Bigger; basically it combines traditional yoga practice with aerial circus performances.

Meet the expert: Kevin Biggeris a Registered Yoga Teacher, Aerial Yoga Instructor at Om factoryand co-creator of the Om Factory Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Program.

This combination makes for super awesome shots, yes, but also a solid workout. If you’re like me, you’ll be inspired to try some of these poses as soon as possible. Just be sure to consult a doctor before making lifestyle changes or returning for an extended session.

Trying out this new modality also has some nice perks. Aerial yoga offers tons of potential benefits, from enhancing a traditional yoga practice to introducing fun into your fitness routine and more. Read on for all the details on these top-flight benefits, plus tips for preparing your body and mind to get the most out of your aerial yoga experience.

What is aerial yoga?

Aerial yoga combines traditional yoga with aerial circus performances. Most aerial yoga studios use hammocks or aerial slings, which are typically suspended at hip height above your yoga mat, according to Bigger. You’ll use this hammock for most of what you do in class, says Bigger.

Exactly what you’ll do in class depends on your skill level and who’s teaching, says Bigger. (More tips for beginners in a second.) There are plenty of options, from traditional yoga poses with parts of your body touching the hammock (like a lunge with your back foot in the hammock) to aerial conditioning exercises ( like core work and pull-ups), according to Bigger. He adds that some teachers even include elements of Pilates and to cross in their classes. Make it a routine and you can even do aerial circus moves, like back flips.

7 benefits of aerial yoga

Aerial yoga may look and sound just plain fun, but there’s more to the gravity-defying modality. There are tons of potential benefits to practicing aerial yoga, according to Bigger.

  • It is beginner friendly. According to Bigger, some part of your body is almost always holding the hammock. Thus, it can be a support for a person struggling with his balance. This support also makes it accessible to beginners.
  • It can also challenge (and improve) your balance. “There are ways to strengthen the hip muscles that support balance and heighten your awareness of where your midline is so you can balance yourself better,” says Bigger.
  • It can help you find new poses. Another major benefit of aerial yoga is that it can help people tackle inversion poses without putting weight on the neck, according to Bigger. Handstands, for example, are very difficult for people with upper back strain and neck problems, he explains. But the aerial yoga version offers the advantage of lengthening the spine without putting weight on the head. “In a classic yoga program, inverted poses are considered an integral part of the practice,” adds Bigger. “So [aerial yoga] gives more people the opportunity to get this benefit.
  • It can complement a traditional yoga practice. Aerial yoga trains muscles you don’t hit in traditional floor yoga, per Bigger. In particular, he says aerial yoga strengthens your back muscles, like your rhomboids, traps, and lats, and circus moves can engage your hamstrings and glutes.
  • It can invite playfulness into your workouts. “Yoga can tend to get really serious,” says Bigger. He notes that the rigor and seriousness of the discipline can be off-putting to new students, but the playfulness of aerial yoga can be more appealing.
  • It creates a community. At some point during class, you’ll likely lightly pass someone else as you move around in the hammock, says Bigger. That’s not a bad thing! You almost have to recognize the other people around you during class, he explains. Aerial yoga, he notes, seems to amplify the community building you might experience in a regular yoga studio.
  • It can be stimulating. “As adults, we often don’t do the things that scare us anymore,” says Bigger. “Most people in their first classes have a pose or two that require them to manage their fear response.” (Although the instructors try to make you feel safe during class!) For people who live more timidly, he explains, aerial yoga can be empowering in that it provides a safe environment to cope. things that make you uncomfortable.

What to expect during aerial yoga class

If you are a beginner like me, no worries. Bigger has plenty of tips to help you prepare for your first flight like an air practice pro.

What to wear for aerial yoga

You can walk into your first aerial yoga class looking like a regular. Here’s what Bigger recommends wearing to feel comfortable and perform well.

  • Dress in more fitted sportswear. You’ll probably be more comfortable, advises Bigger. That way, you don’t have to worry about your wardrobe malfunctioning (and potentially feeling embarrassed) when you turn around.
  • Cover up with longer pants/sleeves. It’s also a good idea to wear at least capri pants (like these best selling leggings). Shorter shorts can be uncomfortable, says Bigger, because the hammock wraps around the back of your knees and thighs. (Fabric burn? No thanks!) “Likewise, there are a few times when the hammock gets close to the armpit,” he says. Sleeve shirts are better than tank tops.
  • Wear a sports bra. It’s not a HIIT class, but don’t forget a good sports bra. Bigger notes that you will need good support while you move with the hammock.
  • Leave the jewelry at home. As for the accessories, it is better to leave them aside (for the most part). “The jewelry will damage the hammock,” says Bigger, so don’t be surprised if your instructor asks you to remove it. Your fitness tracker may be comfortable to wear, but some people find them uncomfortable, he adds.

What to do before an aerial yoga class

When it comes to physical preparation, Bigger recommends coming to class well-hydrated to avoid getting dizzy and dizzy. And, don’t arrive with a super full or empty stomach. For example, “if you’re coming for an evening class, make sure you don’t skip lunch,” he adds.

This content is imported from the survey. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, on their website.

On a mental level, acknowledge that you’re doing something new, advises Bigger. Even if you’re a yoga teacher on the mat, he adds, the aerial hammock will change the nature of the poses and might make you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing.

“Let go of any expectation of being good or bad and just open yourself up to the newness of experience.”

Expect to feel some discomfort during class (and that’s okay). For example, the first time you have the hammock wrapped tightly around your body isn’t comfortable, says Bigger. Your teacher should know how to adjust or add padding to the pose to make you feel comfortable, but you should ask for a modification, he adds. Do not be shy !

Finally, you don’t want to jump into your first aerial yoga class right away, notes Bigger. He suggests arriving about 10 minutes early so you can get comfortable in the studio and give your instructor time to adjust the height of your hammock.

What Happens in an Aerial Yoga Class

An aerial yoga class at Om Factory looks like this: students are invited into the room when it’s ready. They will each place a mat under their hammock, and the instructor will adjust its height accordingly.

The course often begins in a manner similar to a typical yoga class: Instructors can choose to start with centering and grounding and breathing poses, or perhaps an opening meditation. Then the 75-minute class—again, a combination of stretching, strengthening, yoga poses, conditioning, aerial circus, and dance—begins. The exact class structure depends on a variety of factors, including teacher preference. For example, Bigger could devote 45 minutes to yoga and devote the last half hour to aerial circus. Sometimes it even incorporates an in-class moment where people can pull out their phones and take a picture of something they’ve learned.

“Class usually ends with a floating Savasana for about five minutes,” says Bigger, adding that it’s basically like a nap in the hammock. (Count on me!)

How does aerial yoga compare to mat yoga

You might be wondering how your favorite yoga mat class compares to an aerial session. The structure may actually look quite familiar, according to Bigger, but it’s also going to have a few differences.

For example, something akin to a sun salutation, he says, is more of an intermediate level of aerial yoga. So while many Vinyasa yoga classes begin with seated meditation, seated stretches, lying dog, walking up your mat, Sun Salutation A, you can probably expect a different kind of warming up in an air course.

Where to find aerial yoga classes

Let me guess: you can’t wait to try aerial yoga. (Same, girl.) To help you out, here’s a list of some of the studios around the country that offer aerial yoga classes.

The longest running indigo painting on durable hand-spun Khaddar textile, which pays homage to Bhagwan Shiva, has now entered the prestigious 2020-2022 edition of the Limca Book of Records. This painting bears witness to the Sanatan Dharma whose imprint can be seen on the indigenous fabric which is organic. In fact, the chemical-free textile gave the painting a look that Bharatiya is inscribed all over.

It was made with meticulous precision by Sangeeta Gupta, a devotee of Shiva, in a nondescript village in Rajasthan.

This work is born from the infinite and formless energy of Aadiyogi Shiva, Ardhnarishwar. There is no beginning, no end, everything is inclusive. “Shankaracharya traveled across the country to revive Sanatan Dharma. It was very important for the survival of Hinduism. Inspired by this, my work seeks to highlight Aadi Shankaracharya’s efforts for the revival of Sanatan Dharma. I propagate Shiv which is within all Bharatiyas. It is all encompassing and omnipresent. says the artist, who inscribed an Aadi Shankaracharya mantra on his work.

On the relevance of Sanatan Dharma, the former IT commissioner says that the beginning of the universe is with Sanatan Dharma. “It’s a way of life that guides us throughout life in everything we do and also in everything we don’t do.”

This eternal truth elucidates the teachings of Hinduism. For the work titled “Aadiyogi Shiv – A Journey into Cosmic Indigo”, the artist did extensive research. She studied everything about Shiv as well as Shakti and saw a number of videos about the life of Aadi Shankaracharya.

The longer painting was divided into panels for the convenience of art lovers during an exhibition which ended at Bikaner House on October 12. It looks like Sangeeta has done the impossible – merging fashion with art.

Sangeeta tried to remind the people of Bharat to be proud of their heritage. “Khadi and Neel have been ours for ages. Our block printing technique is our own centuries-old method of Chhapakala which is dying out. The machine has made everything so mechanical and impersonal. I just wanted to give our chhapakala some new abstract idioms that can be refreshing and contemporary,” she said, while addressing Organizer.

Above all, Khaddar was glorified during Bharat’s struggle for independence. “Glorified during the freedom struggle, as a Swadeshi symbol, Khaddar is natural, enduring and modest. Its essence is a reflection of the true values of the Bharathiyas,” says Raghvendra Rathore, a famous designer from the Desert State.

‘My inspiration has been the Ardhnarishwar, Bhagwan Shiv, which has both forms of energy, male and female’ —Sangeeta Gupta

Hand spun and hand woven in a coarse weave, Khaddar is used throughout Bharat. “In Rajasthan, it’s a way of life – protecting people from extreme weather conditions,” says Rathore, who created the khaddar Jodhpuri kurtas.

Interestingly, Sangeeta Gupta has been conceptualizing this painting since late December 2019. “I first made hundreds of sketches of Shiv as the ultimate feminist, Ardhnarishwar on my sketchbook.”

Executing her plans was a daunting task as she chose a difficult background. “As an abstract artist, Shiva appeals to me the most. After purchasing hand-spun khaddar fabric and natural indigo color and dye (which Sanganer is famous for), I started painting proper said on February 25, 2020”, explains the artist, while explaining the operating mode to create such a long and extraordinary work.

West refuses to acknowledge his contribution

The village of Ratalya, located in the Sanganer tehsil in the desert state, was deliberately chosen by this former income tax commissioner as the location for her masterpiece. This district town of Jaipur is known for its prints and the hand-printing of Sanganeri West refuses to acknowledge its contribution

Sangeeta Gupta’s nomenclature would have easily reached the Guinness Book of Records but fate would have it otherwise. “Textile paint is not recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. For technical reasons, it was rejected. It follows UK guidelines and textile does not fall into the category.

Sangeeta first painted with dabu, a muddy paste with a brush, then put sawdust on it, after which she dried the paint in the sun. Painting process

Explaining the painstaking process, which took a lot of patience and perseverance, Sangeeta said, “After drying the fabric, it was dipped in drums of indigo dye, then washed and dried again.” The second method she applied to the paint was very tedious as she first dyed the khaddar cloth in light shades of indigo, then dried it and finally she painted over the cloth with a brush in dark indigo color tones. “I used both of these methods to paint on the fabric.” It required back and forth. She completed the 185 meter works in nine days, at Shilpi Sansthan, Ratelia village, Jaipur. She then returned to Delhi on March 4, 2020, as COVID-19 had started to wreak havoc on the lives of people in the Pink City. “The rest of the 15 meter painting I completed in my studio in Delhi.”

A strong proponent of social engineering, Sangeeta Gupta started a movement for the revival of the natural indigo color. She wants to revive the cultivation of indigo, a cash crop as a mass movement to make it a commercially viable business for farmers, dyers and artisans.

The fast and hectic lifestyles we all lead, combined with foods that aren’t so good for you and not drinking enough water throughout the day, can harm your body and cause inflammation, which is believed to be the root cause of many diseases and health conditions.

The best way to stimulate your lymphatic system Reducing inflammation and protecting yourself from its harmful effects involves cleaning up your diet, reducing your stress levels, focusing on improving the quality of your sleep, and including regular exercise in your weekly routine.

What is Inflammation?

Inflammation is a natural and biological reaction of the human body to any type of irritant, pathogen or foreign and potentially harmful agent. Your immune system responds to a threat by activating its cells and releasing a variety of different chemicals to allow your blood vessels to widen and send blood and nutrients to affected areas.

It can be acute, which manifests as immediate redness, swelling, and a warm skin surface around the affected area, or it can be chronic and slowly accumulate in the body over time, wreaking havoc from the background.

Usually, acute inflammation caused by injury is not recommended to be treated with exercise, but chronic inflammation, the so-called root cause of disease, certainly is.

How does exercise reduce inflammation?

Chronic inflammation has a big list of symptoms which are much more subtle than acute inflammation and are often overlooked until they become severe. These include fatigue, low energy levels, depression and anxiety, body aches, digestive issues, brain fog, inability to concentrate, and an overall weakened immune system.

This leaves your body prone to a variety of infections and illnesses and can lead to many serious health complications if left untreated.

In addition to a healthy diet, exercise is one of the best ways to help reduce your stress and overall inflammation in the body, boost your immune system and protect against disease. Studies show how one moderate workout may already have anti-inflammatory effects, helping to improve your blood circulation and nutrient transport.

In addition, exercise helps balance your hormones and decreases the production of many harmful proteins such as TNF (tumor necrosis factor) which help regulate local and systemic inflammation. By reducing their impact, exercise helps boost your immune response, which helps prevent infection and disease.

5 exercises to reduce inflammation

We’ve compiled a list of some of the best and easiest exercises that will help stimulate your body to reduce inflammation, eliminate toxins, improve blood circulation, and help you feel better overall.

shoulder pad

Start by lying on your back and raising your legs vertically into the air. Inhale and lift your hips, grabbing them from below to fully support your pelvis. On your next inhale, lift your hips even higher and activate your legs all the way of your quadriceps through your feet.

Stay here for three to five long inhales and exhales and if you feel challenged, lower your pelvis a little so your legs move into a slightly diagonal position. This will be easier on your upper back while delivering on its promise to reduce your inflammation.

Inversions like this help bring blood back to the center of your body and relieve pressure on your lower back, which can help pain management and global inflammation.

Walking is one of the best low-impact exercises that helps reduce inflammation and stress in your body, and incline your treadmill a few inches higher adds a pretty decent challenge. Considered a low intensity exercise which is often used for longer periods of time, incline walking helps reduce back painstrengthens your entire posterior chain, and helps with fat loss because it taps into your fat stores and stimulates your body to use them as fuel.

Start with a small gradient and increase over time. The goal is to make the exercise sustainable for at least 20 and aim for 40-45 minutes in your fat burning zone. This should be 50-75% of your maximum heart rate.

Sun Salutation Routine

Yoga is known for its relaxing and stress-reducing effects and there’s no better way to start your practice than with sun salutations.

Start in a standing position at the beginning of your mat, feet together. Bring your arms above your head on a long inhale and exhale as you bend over your legs and bring your palms to the floor next to your feet. Bend your knees as much as necessary and relax your head.

Inhale and look forward, exhale and step back, come into a plank position. Activate your abdominal muscles and engage your quadriceps. Inhale and move your whole body slightly forward, exhale and bend your elbows, lowering your body into a low plank position.

Inhale and thrust your hips forward, lifting your body into an upward facing dog, pressing your palms and both feet firmly into the floor. Exhale and lift your hips, creating an inverted V shape with your body and stepping into downward-facing dog.

Stay here for a few long breathing cycles and stay still or bend one knee then the other, taking your dog for a “walk”.

Yoga leggings

Make your workouts comfortable and easy to perform.

Twists

The twist helps bring fresh blood and oxygen throughout your body, providing you with a variety of nutrients and helping you flush out toxins. It is one of many therapeutic exercises derivative of yoga that can help improve your digestiondecrease inflammation and improve your quality of life.

Start in a seated position and extend your legs out in front of you. Bend your right knee and bring your foot close to your sitting bones. Lift your right foot and place it on the outside of your left thigh. Grasp your right knee with your left hand and bring it closer to your body.

Place your right palm behind you, just behind your pelvis, and use it as leverage to push yourself off the ground and straighten your spine. Take a deep breath in and on your exhale, slowly begin to twist to the right, looking as far behind you as possible. Stay for three long inhales and exhales before repeating the same on the other side.

Folds forward

Another one anti-stress exercise what is quite common in many different workout styles are forward bends. When you close your body and lean back on your legs, you activate your parasympathetic nervous system which stimulates your body to relax and go from “fight or flight” to “rest and digest”.

You can perform any type of forward fold, but it’s always best to start with the simplest one. Get into a standing position and place your feet hip-width apart. Inhale and slowly bend over your legs, letting your upper body hang over your lower body. Grab your elbows and slowly start rocking from side to side. You can bend your knees if you need to or keep them straight, but relax your upper body as much as possible.

After three to five long inhales and exhales, relax your arms and let them hang down. Feel gravity pulling you down and naturally stretch your hamstrings, calves, and entire back. Stay as long as you want before gently rolling to a standing position.

Inflammation is a serious problem that we all face in one way or another, and implementing significant lifestyle changes is the first and most important step in reducing its harmful effects and reducing inflammation. prevent it from growing again and again.

These exercises are easy to perform and even easier to add at the end of each workout. And if you have tired legs at the end of your day, you might want to include these stretching exercises as well.

A message from Dean Douglas Elmendorf

To the faculty, students, staff, and fellows of the Harvard Kennedy School,

It is with deep and profound sadness that I write to inform you that our colleague, teacher and friend Ash Carter passed away last night following a heart attack.

This loss is so sudden and so devastating.

I first met Ash Carter in 2016 at the Pentagon, when he was US Secretary of Defense, and we began our campaign to get him back to school after he left the Department of Defense. We were all honored when Ash join our faculty in 2017 as Belfer Professor of Technology and Global Affairs and Director of our Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

Ash Carter has been an important leader of the Kennedy School over the past five years – supporting faculty recruitment, helping to expand our technology and public policy program, creating a project called Technology and Public Purpose, and partnering with me in various collaborative endeavors. Ash was dedicated to our students: He said one of the main reasons he came back here was his Department of Defense experience of traveling overseas and being greeted with the greeting “Hello Professor Carter of his former students. So he wanted to come back and work. with more students, and he helped raise funds for scholarships. Ash was also a leader at Harvard more broadly. For example, he and Frank Doyle, the dean of Harvard’s Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, have organized a regular gathering of professors and others across Boston who think deeply about technology and society.

Ash Carter’s recent contributions to the Kennedy School are just a small part of the immense contributions he has made throughout his career here, a career that stretches back nearly 40 years. Ash earned a doctorate in theoretical physics at Oxford, but took a keen interest in politics. He started here as an assistant professor in 1984 and was tenured in 1988. He has taught many courses, mentored many future leaders, and helped develop our concentration in international and global affairs. Ash left the School for Public Service between 1993 and 1996 and again between 2010 and 2017 – and it was through this service that he became so well known and admired beyond our campus.

The United States and the world know Ash Carter for his lifelong efforts to serve this country, uphold this country’s best values, and build a safer world for all. Between 1993 and 1996, he served as Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy; one of his main activities in this role was the denuclearization of Ukraine, a topic he has been talking about a lot lately. From 2010 to 2017, he successively served as Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics; Undersecretary of Defense; and Secretary of Defense.

As Secretary of Defense, Ash Carter supervised the military campaign against ISIL, an increased focus on the Asia-Pacific region, a new cyber strategy and a stronger NATO response to Russia. He paid particular attention to investments in technology, including the creation of technology hubs to connect the military with technology experts in the private sector. And he focused on improving the recruitment and retention of talented people, in part by opening all military positions to women without exception. In recent years, he has remained a very prominent public voice and private adviser on matters of national security and international relations.

Much more could – and should – be said about Ash Carter. We will find ways to share the views of the many people at the Kennedy School and beyond who knew Ash and worked with him. For my part, I would like to express my gratitude for his insight and wisdom, his unwavering commitment to trying to make the world a better place, his confidence that the Kennedy School can make a significant difference in the world, his generous spirit towards his students and his colleagues, and his warm and gracious friendship with me. I will miss him so much.

My thoughts are with Ash’s wife, Stephanie, and all of Ash’s family. Our thoughts and sympathies also go out to everyone who knew Ash, learned from him and worked with him. If you would like to speak to someone during this difficult time, please contact your Program Director (for students), your HR contact (for staff), the University Deans’ Office (for faculty) or the Advising Service and Harvard Mental Health (for all). When we have information about a memorial service, we will let you know.

With great sadness,
Doug
