Experts rate Tennessee Titans picking Treylon Burks in 2022 NFL Draft

After trading AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tennessee Titans selected Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks with the No. 18 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

However, many project analysts were split on the choice. Some thought Burks could adequately replace Brown, while others think there are still questions ahead of Day 2.

Here’s how the pick ranked:

Tennessean’s Nick Gray

The buzzing: “Regardless of the trade, Burks is a good choice. But the exchange has taken place and it will dictate how Burks is perceived.”

CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco

Grade: C+

The buzz: “They basically traded in a big physical receiver to replace AJ Brown. Burks will come in a lot cheaper. I’m not sure he’s AJ Brown, though. But the philosophy makes sense. Draft and get a cheaper player. Burks gotta keep his weight down some.”

Bleacher Report’s Brett Sobleski

The buzz: “The Titans basically dealt Brown just to replace him with Burks and add a late third-round pick. At best, the franchise is treading water.”

SB Nation’s James Dator

Grade: B

The buzzing: “Receivers are flying off the board and the Titans need a replacement after dealing AJ Brown. Burks is a strong physical receiver who looks a lot like AJ Brown. Seriously, it’s the best player comparison here, and this deal and this pick feels like an acknowledgment that this team has a big retooling to do.”

Athletic’s Sheil Kapadia

Grade: VS

The buzz: “I like Burks as a prospect, but I’m not sure these moves make sense for them.”
