New directive from Tejashwi Yadav to RJD ministers

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has issued a list of do’s and don’ts to ministers from his party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which has 31 ministers in the minister’s government Chief Nitish Kumar.
The leader asked to favor austerity and transparency. Also, encourage the exchange of books and pens rather than flowers and bouquets.
Yadav announced the new internal order on social media on Saturday afternoon. The first of the six instructions read: “Ministers from the Rashtriya Janata Dal quota will not purchase any new vehicles for themselves in the department.”
Furthermore, Yadav also instructed his ministers to be courteous to everyone and promote the tradition of salvation with Namaste and Adab.
“Ministers of Rashtriya Janata Dal must not allow workers, supporters and sympathizers to touch their feet,” reads one of Yadav’s instructions.
Instead of flowers or bouquets, ministers were instructed to encourage the exchange of books and pens with immediate effect.
“When dealing with the poor and needy, ministers should be impartial and not let their caste/religion determine the priority of the issue,” he said.
Another directive states that ministers must promote honesty, transparency and timeliness in their departments.
Ministers have also been asked to share their work plans and development projects on social media so that the public can learn more about the work they have done.
The new instructions appear to be Yadav’s attempt to rebrand the party following BJP criticism of the “jungle raj”, citing a series of murders and other crimes to attack the alliance.
The Grand Alliance of Bihar has 163 members in total. After Independent MP Sumit Kumar Singh endorsed Nitish Kumar, the party’s effective membership rose to 164.
On August 24, the new government should win a majority in the Bihar assembly.
