New duo in the kitchen of the old post office in Margate and the launch of the brunch and lunch menu – The Isle Of Thanet News
Talented chef Jamie Olive will take over in the kitchen at The Old Post Office in Margate with Sous Chef Chloe Dolbear by his side.
Jamie and Chloe were part of the kitchen team at the Sands Hotel until it closed this month for refurbishment by new owners GuestHouse.
Jamie, from Ramsgate, was head chef at the Sands and has worked there for the past four years. He has also worked at Salutation in Sandwich and for a respected agency covering chef roles in Kent.
The 25-year-old is offering a new brunch and lunch menu starting this Friday (June 10) and introducing Bottomless Brunch on Saturdays.
He said: “We went to The Old Post Office to put together our menu and were very excited.
“Our first service will be on Friday and we expect to be very very busy for the bottomless brunch and Sunday roasts.
“With the Bottomless Brunch, guests get 90 minutes of Bottomless Prosecco, cocktails, and beer.”
The new menus will also reflect Jamie’s well-known casual style and love of smoked and grilled foods.
Sous chef Chloe, from Palm Bay, had been on staff at the Sands for two years. The 21-year-old will bring her talent for desserts.
The former post office in Cecil Square was taken over by couple Aimee Kay and Nicholas Parry late last year with a focus on sharing food, light snacks and cocktails.
Brunch and lunch available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. Bottomless brunch on Saturday noon until 2:30 p.m. Sunday roasts from noon to 5 p.m.
Dinner service is from 5pm to 9pm with closing at 11pm from Tuesday to Saturday and closing at 6pm, for now, on Sunday.
