This hotel was the four-star The Salutation, in Sandwich, who, like Steph and Dom, was also made famous by appearances on Gogglebox and other shows produced by Parker, such as Steph and Dom Meet Nigel Farage.
But what happened to La Salutation?
In 2019, the Grade I listed building went bankrupt and went on sale in 2020 for an asking price of £ 5million.
The magnificent Queen Ann style building has 17 rooms and 3.5 acres of walled gardens, two other detached houses and a cottage.
In 2020, the Parkers admitted that the company running the Grade I-listed mansion would be liquidated and customer deposits lost.
A total of 33 workers were sent home in January 2020, before the pandemic struck.
Speaking of the liquidation, Dom said he wanted to sell the estate anyway because he and his wife Steph “don’t have the energy to run it anymore.”
The hotel was rented by John and Dorothy Fothergill at the time of its liquidation.
John and Dorothy had a five-year lease with Dom and Steph and were in charge of the day-to-day management of the Sandwich Hotel.
If you search for the Salutation online, it is still listed on some hotel reservation websites, but you cannot make a reservation.
And his Facebook page has been inactive for a while now.
On the company information page gov.uk, The Salutation’s most recent status is ‘Voluntary Creditors’ Liquidation, which is due to be dissolved on December 28, 2021.
The Salutation was designed in 1911 by the famous British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.
